Senior Electrical Designer

Are you an Electrical Designer in Kansas City looking to take the next step in your career? An engineering design client of Insight Global is looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join their growing team in Kansas City, MO. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for collaborating with engineers to design a variety of electrical components outlined below.
- Use AutoCAD 3D to create electrical raceway models, design drawings, and circuit routing for power and industrial projects
- Produce complete Electrical One-line, Three-line, and Relaying Diagrams based on input from design engineers
- Plan and develop production drawings, including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations for complex assignments
- Implement changes to designs, sketches, and redlines on ongoing projects
- Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to inform project planning and design
- Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications
- Review design drawings for quality assurance, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and schedule
- Perform project tasks within budgeted hours and deadlines
- Manage revisions of project drawings and ensure project-related information is organized and stored logically.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience doing the electrical design for Power Generation projects, OR Heavy Industrial projects OR Renewable Biomass projects
Steam and Gas Turbine Generators, 480V & 4160V Equipment, Generator Step-up Transformers, and other Power Plant Equipment
- 5+ years of experience with Electrical One-lines, raceway, and cable routing design for power plants and boiler applications
- Experience with AutoCAD 3D

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Plant3d OR Aeries Cars
