Base Pay: $39.25-$47.10 per hour

1st Shift: Monday-Friday 7 am-3 pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery. Corrects problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical components, and PLCs. Maintains specified production and spare equipment. Plans and fabricates metal parts (e.g., brackets) for manufacturing application; installs and maintains electrical equipment. Operates and assists maintaining motorized equipment. Performs basic to complex grounds/facilities repairs, as required. Performs basic to complex electrical repairs and installations. Interacts with vendors to complete projects or to repair equipment. Ensures accuracy and safety in all operations.
  • Diagnose root cause of problem and correct issue with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical components and PLCs in plant machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade A.C. and D.C. drives and PLC's (Programmable Logic Controls).
  • Install new wiring and maintain existing wiring.
  • Perform "board level" circuit board repairs.
  • Design control boards for timers and motor control or modify PLC logic as needed. Track all code changes per documentation procedures.
  • Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on all machinery. Maintain and repair all extruder and downstream drive equipment.
  • Maintain work logs, including logs of repairs and alterations to schematics.
  • Train maintenance technicians in the operation of drives, motor controls, monitors, and other areas as required. Train other Maintenance Associates on job functions. Train Machine Operators as needed on changeovers and equipment and procedures.
  • Perform all duties required of a Maintenance Technician 3 (Shift Mechanic).
  • Operate manlifts and forklifts, transport heavy parts and equipment. Complete daily forklift safety/damage inspection checks.
  • The ability to fabricate metal parts (e.g., brackets); perform welding as required.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if required.
  • Maintain work logs, including logs of repairs and alterations to schematics. Including identifying critical needs of the facility when performing and reporting to ensure needs are met.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
  • Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location.
  • Maintain supplies at workstation. Notify department supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functions.
Qualifications

  • Graduate of electronics technical school or associate's degree in electrical/electronics theory and application or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • State license or certificate preferred
  • Minimum of four years' experience in electrical and electronic maintenance required
  • Must be able to read and comprehend electrical schematics
  • Must understand operation of A.C. and D. C. drives and P.L.C.'s
  • Position requires excellent mathematical and design aptitude
  • Must be able to distinguish colours while working with electric wiring
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and ability to team lift 51 to 100lbs
  • Must have above average oral and written communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • Must be able to operate and read electronic equipment like a digital multimeter and oscilloscope
  • Must be able to handle multiple demands
  • Position requires walking, standing, bending, and twisting
  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust
  • Work involves high voltage equipment and rapidly moving machinery; constant attention to safe practices is required
  • Equipment/Tools Used: Amp probe, Insulated tools, Meg meter, Multi-tester, Oscilloscope, Utility knife, Voltmeter, Safety glasses, Hearing Protection, motorized equipment and Steel Toed Shoes
  • Safe work performance is always required from each Associate
  • Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Associate's performance appraisal
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds maximum
  • Lifting 51 to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Bending, kneeling, standing, twisting, turning, walking throughout a full shift on concrete floors
  • Must be able to distinguish colours while working with electric wiring
  • Work involves high voltage equipment and rapidly moving machinery
