Summary
The Office of Reservations and Events provides logistics and service support for events and meetings taking place throughout the University of Missouri campus seven days a week. The Senior Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing and executing a wide variety of events for the Division of Business Operations & Strategic Initiatives as well as serve other campus departments for event planning support as requested and scheduled. We are seeking an experienced professional with the ability to address issues before they arise and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute internal events hosted by the Division of Business Operations, from conception to clean up (logistics, room reservations, set up, vendors, catering, programs, breakdown, etc.).
  • Independently develop detailed agendas or run-of-show itineraries for a wide variety of events. Events may include VIP receptions, grand openings, showcases, milestone celebrations, recognition events, retirement celebrations among others.
  • Manage all event related fiscal responsibilities and maintain comprehensive and accurate records of past events. This will include vendor relationships, orders, delivery, invoice payments, etc.
  • May develop budgets for events, or work within parameters of given budget for events. May prepare post event reports and conduct debriefs with customer.
  • Work with assigned clients to support their event planning needs, meeting established success metrics. Receive and provide constructive feedback throughout the event planning process. See tasks through to completion. Conduct debriefs of events with necessary stakeholders.
  • Seek collaboration with staff/faculty and off campus constituents as necessary for event support and work closely with colleagues in the division to successfully put on events.

Reports to the Interim Director - Reservations & Events

Shift

Schedule may vary with event needs, generally Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Three years' experience in event planning - from conceptualization through implementation.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875.20 - $65,000

Grade: GGS-010
