Job Duties

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Senior Federal Reporting Analyst in the Federal Reporting Division.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assist with the reporting requirement for the Title XIX (Medicaid and Medicaid Expansion) and Title XXI Child Health Insurance Programs (MCHIP and CHIP) and ensuring the integrity of Federal reporting in accordance with applicable Federal regulations.

Supervises the preparation of financial and statistical reports.

Responsible for the tracking and reporting of Supplemental Payments, Cost Settlements, Disproportionate Share Hospital Payments (DSH) and Graduate
Medical Education Payments (GME).

Stay abreast of latest federal reporting requirements.

Assist with coordinating and responding to inquiries from federal and state auditors.

Provide technical guidance to internal and external staff members.

Initiate changes to internal systems and/or processes in accordance with new federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Extensive work-related experience working in an accounting operations and financial reporting environment.

Considerable work-related knowledge of federal grant regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and data processing techniques in maintaining accounting records and creating work papers to support federal reports.

Extensive work-related knowledge and experience performing financial reconciliations and utilizing Oracle Governmental Financial and Cardinal or other large mainframe systems.

Extensive work-related knowledge and experience preparing complex financial schedules and reports including assembling, analyzing, and preparing reports and statements covering complex financial data.

Considerable experience in process management

Considerable experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel.

Experience conducting research, analyzing, interpreting, and applying regulations, state, and federal laws.

Considerable work-related experience prioritizing work assignments, meeting deadlines.

Considerable experience communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations:

Proficiency with SAS, SQL, and/or Tableau. Experience with Medicaid or other health insurance claims data.
