Job Summary

RDSI has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment. This position is for direct support and tracking of DoD customer programs in response to the contractual requirement of various data deliverables. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst will manage all financial aspects of contracts and be the liaison between RDSI and the customers regarding funding and status of task orders.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have demonstrated business acumen, strong critical thinking and analytical skills, and the ability to create and utilize clearly articulated, metric-based, analytical solutions to complex problems. The candidate will work directly with DoD customers and must be familiar with DoD Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Position responsibilities include (but are not limited to) supporting the following actions:
  • Provide financial and program management support services to the Department of Defense (DoD) client base.
  • Track cumulative monthly/yearly expenditures charged to various DoD projects.
  • Maintain quality assurance; ensure that appropriate financial entries have been made for Government/contractor costs.
  • Utilize the DoD Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to monitor project finances; research and assign ERP Network Activity (NWA) numbers as required.
  • Prepare various financial reports and funding projections upon request.
  • Prepare funding documentation for customer advocate, program manager, and comptroller departments.
  • Prepare funding modifications based upon government requests.
  • Analyze financial data to identify project projections, actuals, discrepancies and anomalies and provide financial management support of root cause and corrective action on key reporting issues.
  • Perform fiscal year project planning of startup analysis and closeouts.
  • Perform meeting management support, scheduling, action item tracking and meeting minutes.


Qualifications

Must have experience with one or more of the following work areas:
  • Government PBFM experience.
  • 10 + years of progressively responsible financial and management experience with comprehensive experience in strategic business and planning initiatives and financial planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, plans and budgets in a complex, fast changing environment.
  • Proven leadership and management of a diverse operation.
  • Demonstrated success with, and knowledge and understanding of, finance and budgeting, analysis and reporting and information technology programs in support of a high performing organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work closely with and collaborate with senior level administration and Government personnel.
  • Basic cost estimating, budget preparation, and managing labor reporting and expenditure tracking on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating changes in program plans and funding profiles for financial and budget milestones.
  • Understanding of extracting budget and programmatic quantitative data from Costpoint (or similar) reporting systems for analysis, forecasting, and reporting to ensure proper use and execution of program funds.


Requirements

  • MBA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and contribute to the team's success.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks under the supervision of Senior Finance Manager with the goal of working independently and the ability to set priorities.
  • A strong, working knowledge of relevant computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
