WebstaurantStore is an online supply company helping restaurants and businesses build themselves from the ground up. We sell everything from restaurant equipment, frozen lobster, shoes, and napkins + cutlery.

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer with expertise in React and a depth of understanding in traditional web technologies like HTML, CSS, and TypeScript. This role goes beyond mere coding; we desire a professional who can be an architect, a mentor, and a force multiplier, ensuring the quality and performance of our systems while aiding in the professional growth of our team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and Design: Spearhead the design, architecture, and implementation of advanced front-end systems. Help translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Code Review and Quality : Ensure the highest standards of code quality by conducting thorough reviews, introducing best practices, and recommending improvements. Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure quality.
• Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and support other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless and efficient development process.
• Technical Strategy: Lead the strategic planning of front-end technologies, ensuring that our systems remain modern, scalable, and maintainable.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of our front-end systems, ensuring quick load times and smooth user experiences. Helping to diagnose and troubleshoot bugs + performance issues

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and modern frontend build tools
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated capability in crafting pixel-perfect UIs.
• Experience in performance optimization using tools and practices.
• Proven track record of architecting and implementing scalable front-end systems.
• Outstanding mentorship skills, with a commitment to helping others grow.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to make technical decisions, balancing immediate needs and future considerations.

Our Hiring Process has 3 levels:

• A phone interview with a Lead, Manager, or Director to chat about the company, position, and most importantly, learn more about you. We'll contact you after to schedule the next round of interviews or let you know if we don't think you're the right fit.
• A panel + technical interview with a manager or Lead, Director, and fellow Developer. We will ask you technical questions relating to your skillset and general questions to assess communication skills and how well you align with our core values.
• A final interview. After that we'll either make you an offer, or let you know if we feel that you are not a good fit.

Remote work qualifications

• Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
• Access to a home router and modem.
• A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
• A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
• The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
