Senior Java Developer

Cognizant Digital Engineering practice is seeking a seasoned Senior Java Developer with a strong background in Spring boot, Microservices, Kubernetes and Java technologies to drive the development of innovative electronic payment solutions. With 10 to 14 years of experience the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our payment platforms ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.

Location: Riverwoods - IL

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable microservices using Spring boot ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
• Utilize Kubernetes and Red hat OpenShift for orchestrating containerized applications enhancing deployment processes and system scalability.
• Develop robust Core Java applications focusing on creating efficient reliable code.
• Implement Java REST Web APIs and Java Webservices to facilitate seamless communication between different software components.
• Manage database interactions and ensure data integrity within PostgreSQL environments.
• Leverage AWS cloud services to deploy and manage applications focusing on optimizing resource utilization and cost.
• Apply best practices in Java Transaction API to manage transactional operations ensuring data consistency and reliability.
• Contribute to the development of microservices architecture focusing on improving modularity and system resilience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions for electronic payment systems.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in software development maintaining high-quality code documentation.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in software development applying innovative approaches to solve complex problems.

Required Qualifications:

• 10 to 14 years of experience as a Java Developer-
• Must have extensive experience in Spring boot, Microservices, Kubernetes, Red hat Openshift, Core Java and Java Programming.
• Proficiency in Java, REST Web API, Java Transaction API, Java Webservices and PostgreSQL is required.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and microservices architecture is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in the electronic payments domain is mandatory.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment are crucial.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills are required.

The annual salary for this position is between $97,800.00 - $123,300.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
