We're looking for a Java Engineer to:

• design, develop, test and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients and employees
• apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and continuous deployment
• ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
• build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
• understand, represent, and advocate for client needs
• take pride in the quality of delivered software products, learn new technologies and practices, share his knowledge and expertise with colleagues and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities
• work as part of multi-disciplinary teams, participate in agile ceremonies, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and others

Your team

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You'll be working in the Global Banking team in Raleigh/New York focusing on delivery of the strategic deal lifecycle management system called Banker Portal. Together with your team, you will be responsible for the major transformation of the system involving migration of the Banker Portal services to cloud as well as support the day-to-day users' needs by implementation of new features, maintenance and support of the system.

Your expertise

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, ideally 7+ years of experience in a similar position
• experience in web and REST API development using Java, Spring framework, Tomcat, Apache, JavaScript, React and ensuring quality with automated testing (JUnit, Selenium etc.)
• experience creating CI / CD pipelines for on-prem and /or cloud deployment
• ability building applications (and migrate legacy stacks) on Azure
• experience integrating applications (preferably using Kafka)
• strong computer science fundamentals understanding OOP, SOLID principles, data structures, design patterns, relational database concepts (JDBC, SQL, RDBMS) and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate) and UML modelling
• strong communication skills, fluent in English
