At Cognizant Digital Engineering, a small multi-functional team comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX designers and Big Data analysts builds higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Java Full Stack Engineer to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build innovative, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the "team", drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

Location: Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable software solutions using Core Java and J2EE.
• Develop and maintain RESTful and SOAP web services to improve application functionality.
• Use Hibernate for efficient database management and data retrieval.
• Ensure the integration of REST APIs for flawless communication between different software components.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify and resolve software issues.
• Adhere to standard processes in coding and design to enhance software performance.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high quality.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to their growth.
• Work closely with the project management team to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Ensure software compliance with security protocols and data protection standards.
• Optimize existing software applications for improved performance and scalability.
• Strong background in Core Java, Hibernate, J2EE, and web services, with a preference for those with experience in the Cards & Payments domain.
• This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software that meets our client needs.
• Perform Java development activities and build REST API's that are used by several teams.
• Perform POC's to prove the concepts work.
• Represent the team in meetings with other projects.
• Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
• Recommend solutions to improve new and existing design.
• Supervise Code quality and consistently strive for improvement.
• Educate staff members through training and individual support.
• Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
• Understand and document data flows in and between different systems/applications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Core Java, Hibernate, J2EE, Rest API, REST Web Services, SOAP, and XML is required, Spring Framework, Spring boot services.
• REST Api creation.
• Java 11 or Java 17.
• Microservices.
• Typescript, Angular, JavaScript, CSS (Tailwind CSS, Post CSS and Sass), HTML.
• Nice to have: SQL, Oracle, MongoDB.
