Description

The Senior Business Excellence Manager will work closely with Site Manager and Ethicon Wound Closure & Healing SI&D/Business Excellence Lead, to develop and execute continuous improvement strategies to drive operational excellence for the site, including performance management, project portfolio management and resource management activities. Collaborates in the creation of the site strategy, business excellence strategy and roadmap for the Ethicon WCH business and advances the strategy in conjunction with other sites and partners across multiple functions.

Duties & responsibilities

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Leads the Business Excellence team providing guidance and support on all related Business Excellence activity.
  • Ensures effective performance management routines are in place and use and develop digital solutions to drive agility.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are developed in a way that "add up" towards achieving the organization goals. Drive prioritization, resource allocation, and ensures performance management and organizational change plans are in place to deliver the site strategy.
  • Sustains business improvement results through the application and coaching to the different levels of the organization, of Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies. Schedules and coordinates training as appropriate for site/functional projects and activities. Develops a BE skill continuous learning program with emphasis on sponsor training. Certify/ Re-certify appropriate number of Green and Black belts based on business needs.
  • Site/Functional Value Stream Manager, a Subject Matter Expert of the entire material and information flow for all products or services that are created on site. Documents entire "value stream" in a map for each product family or service produced by the site. Maintain a future state version for the product or service families also in a value steam map.
  • Supports the Plant Manager and Senior Leadership team by driving strategic business cycles. Lead plant level improvement projects including Operational Excellence from E2E and cost reduction initiatives. Serve as Change Management champion for the sites to drive business results and sustain outcomes by driving organizational alignment through the Change Integration Process.
  • Create and maintain the Site/Function Strategic Imperatives, and monthly scorecard. Supports the Site/functional staff to translate strategic imperatives into specific projects, measures, and timelines that will drive execution.   • Lead development of updates, communications, presentations, analyses, and reports for senior leaders and responsible for presenting business-related issues, strategies and/or opportunities to the next management level.


Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) preferred.
Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment is required.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment (i.e. FDA, ISO, etc.) is required.
  • Ability to successfully apply and display mastery in Business Excellence methodology - Metrics, DEx, Six Sigma & Lean.
  • Capable of making effective management-level presentations, writing formal reports taking care of both technical and business implications, and preparing project plans while identifying and understanding the interrelationships of related fields and key activities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others in a sophisticated, cross-functional organization is required
  • Demonstrates knowledge of manufacturing principles and product costs and drivers to champion the DTV (Design to Value) process.
  • Knowledge of Process Excellence/Six Sigma/Lean tools and methodologies is required.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to use and learn new platforms such as PowerBI, Qlik, and MES is required.
Preferred

  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Prior experience managing a team of technical resources (i.e. engineers, technicians) is preferred.
Other:

  • This position is 100% on-site Monday- Friday standard business hours
  • 10% travel is required
  • This position expires on 8/19/2024
