Reporting to both the Director, Government Relations and Public Engagement and Travel Operations team, the Senior Immigration Manager will work in close collaboration with key individuals within FWC26, FIFA, and government entities responsible for delivering on a successful and streamlined visa and immigration plan for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and 2025 Club World Cup.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of simplified visa processes for all upcoming FIFA events for all FIFA delegates, workforce and guests, including emergency visa solutions for all FIFA constituent groups. The position will be based in Washington, DC.

THE POSITION
The main responsibilities of the Senior Immigration Manager include:
  • Advising on the execution of the FIFA World Cup™ road map, recruiting strategy, immigration and relocation process and visa process for all FIFA delegates, workforce, PMAs, and guests.
  • Managing, reviewing, recommending, and implementing policy changes and processes relating to immigration procedures and activities.
  • Implementing a simplified visa and special permits process for FIFA delegates, FIFA Match Officials, VIPs and PMAs.
  • Supporting project's counterpart in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Supporting the project development initiatives and obtaining government approvals.
  • Delivering monthly accounting for all services, analyzing figures, producing reports and financial recommendations.
  • Keeping up to date on latest immigration legislation.
  • Representing FWC26 with relevant authorities from all three countries, including presenting FWC26 information and responding quickly to government inquiries.
  • Responding to immigration issues and conducting investigations when applicable.
  • Maintaining solid base of connections, keeping up to date information on changes to processes, rules, and regulations within different government entities & consulates.
  • Participating in trips/events abroad whenever required.
  • Working on weekends and evening shifts to attend to clients' needs.
  • Providing consultancy and knowledge transfer within FIFA departments, Local Organizing Committees and Local Entities.
  • Providing visa process support to FIFA employees for business trips.


YOUR PROFILE
  • Completion of a related University degree or diploma, along with extensive experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience in visa and immigration work or a similar role.
  • Experience in leading small teams
  • Strong IT skills including MS office
  • Additional certificate in business administration
  • Management and leadership courses
  • Knowledge about relevant divisions and counterparts inside and outside the FIFA
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Sound judgement and able to prioritize tasks.
  • International, cross-cultural work experiences preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, interpretation, evaluation, constructive thinking, problem-solving and planning skills are necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically with all counterparts, achieving high quality results in difficult and challenging circumstances.
  • Demonstrated leadership/management skills and the ability to make strategic independent decisions and apply sound judgment.
  • Ability to embrace change and be highly adaptable to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment with Immigration professionals.
  • Project and event management experience.
  • Practical commercial experience (with distinguished geographical knowledge).
