Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Innovation Communications, Surgery, this role will elevate our innovation story across surgical robotics and advanced surgical technologies for Johnson & Johnson MedTech's Surgery business.

This is a comprehensive communications role, covering employee and culture communications, executive communications, strategic messaging and narrative development, thought leadership, media relations and social media, and campaign activations.

The Senior Manager, Innovation Communications, Surgery will work closely with the Director to bring together R&D, clinical, medical, and business milestones to inform communications activations.

This role will be required to build a deep understanding of surgery, technology development, clinical and medical data, and market opportunities that will inform an integrated global communications plan.

  • Partner with the Director in developing and implementing the integrated global communications plan for multiple audiences in support of Johnson & Johnson MedTech's surgical innovation story.
  • Develop and implement communications in support of science and engineering milestones, portfolio strategy, medical evidence, and clinical data.
  • Serve as a valued counselor to business, R&D, and medical and clinical leaders across surgery.
  • Create storylines that connect innovation and medical and clinical programs to both business objectives and industry trends.
  • Proactively drive communications results across earned and paid media and social media channels and partner to manage issues as needed.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required in communication, journalism, PR, public affairs, or closely related field
Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum Of Eight(8) Years Of Experience Managing Communication in a company, NGO, Government Agency Or Public Relations Agency.
  • Demonstrated ability to build deep, authentic, successful relationships with top executives and scientists and strong influence with senior internal and external partners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with superior writing and presentation development skills.
  • Proven track record of successful, independent public relations/communications, corporate communication, science communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements.
  • Deep understanding of media and business analytics, traditional media, digital and social platforms and strong experience with national and local consumer, professional/trade and social media.
  • Experience running internal communications programs focused on building culture and activating an organization around shared business objectives.
  • Experience in managing budgets, agency partners, and resource allocation across large critical projects.
Preferred:

  • Current or past work experience in both external communications or marketing and organizational communications is preferred.
  • Proven experience in healthcare communications is preferred.
Other:

  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel required


The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $136,000 to $234,140.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
