Primary Purpose:
The role will oversee and manage a broad array of IT wide strategic transformation initiatives to ensure they are executed properly and meet business goals. The role includes organizing and executing a portfolio of strategic programs and activities centered on technology transformation, spend optimization initiatives, operating model transformation and M&A transactions. This role will work closely across IT and business leaders and will lead a team of 8-10 project managers and scrum masters (external). The project budgets may range from $10M-$20M.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Carlisle, PA, Chicago, IL, Hyattsville, MD, Mauldin, SC, Quincy, MA, and Scarborough, ME.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize and drive execution across strategic transformation initiatives from inception to delivery by prioritizing, analyzing, designing and deploying appropriate solutions
  • Act as single point of contact for managing a portfolio of cross functional transformation projects working with IT leaders: building synergies between unrelated/related projects or programs, aligning strategic business objectives, increasing business value through people management, change control, risk management, and resource management
  • Apply agile methodologies (scrum, Kanban etc.) to execute transformation projects.
  • Ensure compliance to Project Delivery methods, tools, framework and IT controls.
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down progress, escalate and mitigate risks/issues to multiple levels of management, including executive leadership teams across the organization
  • Create and maintain portfolio resource plans (in coordination with resource managers) that account for all resource capacity and utilization across the IT Function while informing internal capitalization projections
  • Key partner for change management to support building an organizational readiness and change management plans to successfully execute new initiatives.
  • Delivers and executes strong communication plans across the organization, managing varied stakeholders.
  • Monitor portfolio health through OKRs and portfolio metrics and financial status against relevant constraints, including Strategic investment guidance, Portfolio budgets Vendor Contracts, and Operating budgets.
  • Identify and mobilize external partner teams as required; Manage supplier performance to ensure that contractual agreements are met.
  • Manage a team of external project managers and scrum masters based on the portfolio of projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology/Business or related equivalent experience; MBA or Masters Degree in Technology and/or Business related field; equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency preferred.
  • 8 or more years of equivalent experience in Management Consulting / Complex IT Portfolio Management, IT Strategy & Transformation or relevant job or field of technology.
  • 5 or more years of equivalent experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly, 5 or more years' experience directly responsible for guiding, training or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills.
  • Proven experience overseeing, developing and implementing transformation programs and projects.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Competency in project management tools
  • Key Skills: Excellent communication skills, Strong conflict resolution skills, Deep knowledge of project management principles, Maintain a constant risk management mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post graduate degree advanced training and or certifications in relevant field/s of study preferred
  • 5 or more years experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.
  • 5 or more years experience in leading teams or advancing technical capability in teams.
  • Experience in retail or grocery preferred.
  • Scrum master and/or release train engineer certification or relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated ability to apply Agile methodologies
