Job Description

The University of Missouri (MU) College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) seeks an outstanding individual to lead multiple programs, special events and communications to provide stewardship, cultivation and engagement for donors and their families, alumni, volunteers, friends, students, faculty, staff and organizations. The Director of Donor Relations ensures constituencies have positive experiences and appropriate recognition to maintain and grow a pipeline for past, present and future philanthropic support.

Key Responsibilities:

Systematic communication with donors, coordination of members-only events, programs and interactions with dean, faculty and other CAFNR/MU leadership; coordination of unique donor engagement experiences (e.g. Monticello Society event(s), Scholarship Donor Dinner, CAFNR Column Awards, newsletters, etc.); provide overall outstanding customer service and stewardship experience for donors and prospective donors.

Plan and lead endowed educational programs (e.g. Executive in Residence (EIR), Professor for a Day (PFD) and other academic speakers (e.g. Litton Lecturer); coordinate selection of alumni, donor, and friend executives/speakers with a faculty/student led EIR Advisory Board; Litton Foundation Board; supervise EIR intern.

Write, edit and design donor/alumni engagement materials, including impact reports, brochures, letters and other materials related to fundraising for CAFNR-through online communications and other collateral material.

Direct CAFNR's donor recognition club Monticello Society; ensure proper recognition on honor rolls and donor walls, etc. Handle day-to-day donor relations issues as necessary.

Plan and manage a budget; where appropriate, develop alternative sources of income for event planning and management; assist in developing policies and procedures for programs in support (e.g. Giving Day, Division, Department and Research Center-specific) of fundraising activities.

Collaborate with CAFNR Communications & Marketing Office, MU Advancement Communications, Marketing and Donor Relation teams on engagement and stewardship activities. Collaborate with CAFNR Alumni Relations Coordinator on mutually beneficial initiatives.

Collaborate with CAFNR Advancement Officers to create individual major donor strategies for outreach, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri.

Shift

8:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday and some weekend work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Event management, Donor Relations experience in a university preferred, budget experience; writing and design experience

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,000, commensurate with experience.
