Position in this function is responsible to lead and oversee programs within the IS organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare operations, program development, information systems and regulatory compliance. The IS PMO Program Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing healthcare IS initiatives to enhance patient care, improve efficiency, and meet organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Planning:
    • Lead the development and planning of healthcare IS programs, aligning them with organizational objectives and healthcare regulations
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, administrators, and stakeholders to define program goals, milestones, and deliverables
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Provide strategic leadership for healthcare programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision
    • Identify opportunities for program expansion, improvement, and innovation to enhance patient outcomes and organizational impact
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Build and lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, project managers, and other stakeholders
    • Coordinate efforts to integrate program activities with existing healthcare services and initiatives
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and adherence to fiscal guidelines
    • Allocate resources effectively to optimize program outcomes while maintaining compliance with healthcare financial regulations
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for program-related communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging to internal and external stakeholders
    • Engage with healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and community partners to enhance program visibility and support
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Oversee program activities to ensure adherence to high-quality standards and regulatory compliance
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and regulatory experts to implement and maintain program-specific best practices
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Implement monitoring and evaluation processes to assess program effectiveness and impact on patient care
    • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager in the healthcare IS sector
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and quality improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Proven solid leadership and strategic planning skills with a focus on healthcare program development
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, especially in engaging diverse healthcare stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to the client site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Program Management (e.g., PgMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) with a healthcare focus
  • Experience in managing complex healthcare revenue cycle programs or healthcare revenue cycle system integration projects
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology and data analytics

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
