This is a small but mighty team and will start off my managing 8-10 celebrity and private label fashion brands.

Our Team

The Senior Manager of Technical Design position requires someone with leadership, technical skills in garment construction, and fit at HSN. Categories include woven, knits, sweaters intimates, swim wear and outerwear across multiple brands. We are looking for skills relating to fit and sample development through collaborative relationships, with Designers, Merchants, Vendors, Broadcasting, Digital and Sourcing because we are a television network. The Technical Designer will communicate directly with our domestic and overseas vendors and factories to resolve manufacturing issues. You will oversee the brands technical fit standards globally through interaction with global technical design counterparts. Daily responsibilities include creating specs, measuring garments, conducting fits on live fit models and adjusting patterns if necessary. You will provide direction and guidance to a team of two technical designers to ensure accurate execution of requested aesthetic, measurements, quality, construction, and overall fit.

Your Impact
  • Lead a team of 2 Tech Designers to build aesthetic and fit intent from first proto to final production-ready samples.
  • Provide technical expertise to partners to gain clear direction on matters about aesthetic, fit intent, specs, pattern, construction methods and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment.
  • Guide fit consistency for product by leading the development of blocks to maintain standard grade rules, quality, construction standards and fit across brands.
  • Complete technical specification packets including measurements specifications, construction details, appropriate tolerances, and any predefined performance standards.
  • Manage and facilitate the communication with vendors/factories of all information necessary to create the garments and corrections and approvals.
  • Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity.
  • Analyze garment to determine compliance of spec, construction, fit intent and aesthetic.
  • Lead, and facilitates fitting of all samples on live models and mannequin from 1st Proto through final production approval.
  • Make appropriate fit and construction adjustments with vendors/factories to ensure integrity of aesthetic and fit intent are met.
  • Manage the sample development process and ensure all deadlines are met; support the T&A calendar goals.
  • Work with Technical Design leaders to enhance and evolve processes as business warrants, while driving to promote the quality of the product.
  • Collaborate and develop close working relationships with design, sourcing, merchandising, QA, sourcing offices and vendors to ensure all business practices are achieved and upheld.
  • Remain up to date on market trends especially in fit and styling to enhance knowledge and therefore affect overall product fit, quality, and salability.
  • Foster open communication and a team environment with all partners.

What You Bring
  • You are a Manager of Tech Design and have managed at least 2 direct reports.
  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience.
  • You have Minimum of ten years of experience in technical design.
  • You have managed at least a team of two technical designers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of physical fit, evaluation of body size, shape, and the relationship of clothing on the target body.
  • You have knowledge of how product is sourced, developed, and marketed.
  • You have experience in PLM System.
  • You have patternmaking, grading, draping skills.
  • You have experience of garment construction and fitting skills.
  • You have strength in manipulating patterns and communicating adjustments to domestic vendors and international factories to reflect changes.
  • You have proficiency in PC operation, MS office and Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator software.
  • Open to coming into the office Monday and Wednesdays.
