The Senior Manager Technical Operations will be responsible for the implementation, operation, documentation, and support of the systems infrastructure in use at Cozen O'Connor. The Senior Manager of Technical Operations will oversee and participate in all phases of the infrastructure life cycle including requirements analysis, planning, design, implementation, operation and maintenance.

The Senior Manager Technical Operations will manage a team of staff administrators and engineers, consultants and managed services, where applicable to support the core infrastructure of the Firm's IT Systems. This includes uptime, performance, business continuity, security, data integrity, privacy, end user support, budget management, staff assignments, and other initiatives as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of system administrators and engineers, as well as contracted resources and managed services. Provide oversight, guidance and mentorship
  • Develop and maintain current technical knowledge of the products and systems used in the firm's information systems
  • Participate in firm wide IT projects; including but not limited to systems design, procurement/outsourcing plans, ensuring systems align with current best practices
  • Create and implement operational plans to ensure smooth and secure systems operations that are efficient and cost-effective for the following core technologies
    • WAN / LAN Enterprise Networks
    • Storage Area Network
    • Virtualization systems
    • Server Operating systems
    • Exchange Messaging Systems
    • Microsoft Domain Services / Azure AD
    • Backup systems
    • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
    • Data Center Management
    • Cloud Operations
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase performance, cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate performance, security, scalability and recoverability. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement
  • Provide technical leadership to all members of the Information Services department
  • Recommend, schedule, and assist in the execution of upgrades, migrations and remediation efforts as necessary
  • Provide after hours, and on-call support for all systems as needed

Qualifications:
  • 8 years of hands-on experience in the following areas:
    • LAN/WAN Network deployments (VPN, Routers, Switches)
    • Wireless LAN deployments
    • Security Infrastructure (Cisco ISE, Checkpoint Firewalls)
  • Experience in the following are desired:
    • Storage Area Networks
    • Server Virtualization
    • Telecommunications systems
    • Microsoft Exchange email systems
    • Azure AD /Azure Cloud
  • 3-5 years of team lead or manager level experience
  • Experience with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks; ISO 27001, SOC
  • Ability to work in complex IT environments
  • Strong project management experience with planning, implementation and documentation of tasks/projects in the assigned areas
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent, graduate degree preferred
