Microsoft Tax & Customs Department is responsible for Worldwide Tax & Customs Reporting, Compliance, and Planning, including the technology and process & innovation functions to support the coordination of the worldwide tax and Customs functions. There are four major functions within the Tax and Customs Department. 1) Tax Reporting and Transfer Pricing 2) Customs, Tax Process & Innovation, 3) Corporate Tax Planning & Controversies, Indirect Tax & Global Business Initiatives 4) Tax & Customs Controllership, Policy and Benefits Taxation

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing to join Microsoft's global transfer pricing team. Microsoft's global transfer pricing team is responsible for ensuring Microsoft is compliant with the ever-changing regulations that govern transfer pricing.

This individual will be a hands-on leader that works collaboratively across all tax functions to develop and execute transfer pricing policies and practices. This individual will be an effective communicator who can distill complex transfer pricing concepts in a simplified fashion to tax and business leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and finance teams to develop and maintain Microsoft's transfer pricing policies.
  • Dive deep into financial systems to design, prepare, and implement detailed transfer pricing policies and calculations.
  • Assist in advanced pricing agreement and competent authority proceedings.
  • Assist regional tax teams with income tax audits.
  • Determine transfer pricing implications of new business models.
  • Explain transfer pricing concepts to tax and business leadership.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or related field AND 6+ years of direct and indirect tax compliance, tax returns, tax accounting, or tax audit management experience
    • OR Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or related field AND 5+ years of direct and indirect tax compliance, tax returns, tax accounting, or tax audit management experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of transfer pricing experience with a mix of both big four and in-house experience.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and international transfer pricing laws and regulations.
  • Solid familiarity with U.S. international tax law and regulations.
  • Experience with transfer pricing issues faced by large multinational technology companies such as acquisitions, IP integration and cost sharing.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and maintain a growth mindset in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to partner and work collaboratively across teams.
Tax IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
