• Maintain detailed records of the work, and present progress reports to leadership.

Job Description :
• Develop a materials testing program designed to assess the structure and property relationships of materials to manufacturing processes and product performance.
• Design and conduct analyses in collaboration with both internal and external partners.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, Product Developers, and Modelling Scientists to translate laboratory data into actionable insights
• Build a database of material properties, and their influence on manufacturing process, and product performance
• Maintain detailed records of the work, and present progress reports to leadership.
• Conduct independent research and work as part of a cross functional team.
• Carry out literature reviews; assist with study designs and research proposals.
• Develop business driven research plans and carry out research projects
• Collect data; compile and analyze new and existing data; interpret data and form results and conclusions.
• Present research to client stakeholders.
• Prepare for and contribute to scientific engagement

Skills:
PhD (doctoral degree from an accredited university) in relatedscientific field such as Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering,Pharmaceutical Science, Food Science, or closely related field.
A good understanding of powder science and technology, relevant theoretical aspects, and hands-on experience with powder and/or particle characterization techniques
• A sound, fundamental knowledge of the Materials Science Tetrahedron principle, Process Engineering and Manufacturing. Demonstrated experience in translating laboratory research to product and process design.
• A good foundation and experience with traditional physical property analysis techniques, as well as modern instrumental equipment (e.g., digital microscopy, particle size analysis, electron microscopy, shear cell testing, compaction simulation, powder rheology etc.).
• Basic knowledge of data analysis methods, software packages (e.g. Matlab), design of Experiments, and computational modelling approaches is beneficial.
• A sound understanding of tools used to aid formulation design and development, including compaction simulation, powder flow, particle size, particle shape, density, rheology, compact mechanical properties and porosity across a diverse range of sample types including, powder blends, granules, multi-particulates etc.
• A good understanding of requirements for working in a regulated environment.
• Strong leadership, initiative, and teambuilding skills
• Ability to initiate and work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable to changes
• Experience reviewing and summarizing literature
• Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with policies
