Rehab Liaison, Senior

Here is your opportunity to channel the full extent of your knowledge, skills, ambition, and experience on a daily basis. Inspire our patients to progress each day as you:

• Provides in-services and professional presentations.

- Coordinates CEU's for referral sources in addition to community programs for senior groups and non-profit organizations on hospital services, programs and outcomes.

• Assists Business Development Director in the referral-to-admit process and department tasks.

- Assists Business Development Director with selected touch calls and ride alongs (for training and education purposes).

- Assumes responsibility for running marketing meeting in the absence of the Business Development Director. - Assists in the management or oversight of liaisons or admissions liaison.

• Develops call plans and strategies to drive volume using the Referral Development System (RDS). - Creates weekly and quarterly plans.

• Understands healthcare operations, legal guidelines, competitive analysis and market trends.

• Uses market analysis data in individual territory identifying new business opportunities.

• Utilizes CRM for creating, tracking, and monitoring liaison territory referrals and activities.

• Builds 30 days of activities in advance.

• Completes pre-call planning on minimum of 95% of activities (as described in the RDS Sales Cycle).

• Results and post call follow-up entered on minimum of 95% of all activities.

• Educates community, referral sources and physicians on hospital programs and services.

• Conducts routine competitor analysis.

- Identifies development opportunities, threats and to position hospital strategically in the market place.

• Recognizes and removes barriers to admission, and follows up on admissions variables.

• Works with the Regional Director of Managed Care to identify commercial contracting opportunities.

• Works with the Admissions Liaison to ensure appropriate contract rates negotiated at admission.

• Develops relationships with non-profit organizations.

- Participates in charitable activities and services, representing values of Encompass Health through this participation in community events and civic organizations.

• Monitors and measures volume, payor and case growth mix.

- Analyzes data by referral source, program, product line, physician, hospital and payor source to understand past performance, current performance, conversion trends and opportunities for growth. • Conducts bedside sales and performs pre-admissions screens.

- Determines medical appropriateness of patient referral from the hospital/SNF/Home/Assisted Living Facility. Pre-admission screen to be co-signed by a licensed clinician.

• Educates and participates in training of new liaison staff regarding processes and tools.

- Trains staff on all aspects of the referral development and admissions process, including the patient evaluation, medical record review and use of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.

• Manages costs associated with marketing, travel, education and public relations activities.

• Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.

• Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.

• Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.

• Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints or harassment immediately.

Credentials:

• Current driver's license in state employed and acceptable driving record according to company policy.

• Current CPR certification preferred.

• Current State Professional license. • CRRN preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent job experience.

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a liaison or licensed clinician preferred.

• Marketing experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

• Familiarity with acute hospital, rehab hospitals, and local healthcare market preferred.

Machines, Equipment Used:

• General office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.

• Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.

• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.

Skills and Abilities:

• Oral communication, written communication, fluency in English, active listening.

• Information ordering, deductive reasoning, social perceptiveness, time management, critical thinking.

• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.

• Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.

Environmental Conditions:

• Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure.

• Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.

• Handicapped accessible.

• May work under stressful circumstances at times.

Proficiency or Productivity Standards:

• Has regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and punctuality.

• Adheres to dress code including wearing ID badge.

• Adheres to Standards of Business Conduct.

• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.

• May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.

• May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Must be able to travel overnight to fulfill essential training requirements. Travel is infrequent, but necessary for training purposes. Minimum required travel includes training at the Home Office in Birmingham, AL.
