The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer who displays strong communication, interpersonal skills, and embraces a growth mindset.

This position will lead design projects, ensure product conformity to internal and regulatory standards, support production personnel during new design testing and validation, and assist the Engineering Manager in specialty equipment feasibility reviews.

This individual will utilize computer-aided design software to create 2D and 3D models of parts and equipment.

This role is on-site in Brooklyn Center, MN. Only local candidates will be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design efforts of specialty equipment, adhering to customer specifications.
  • Create surface and solid CAD models to satisfy design requirements.
  • Work with a design team and individually on CAD projects
  • Validate new designs, ensuring products meet or exceed quality and performance standards.
  • Support service technicians to troubleshoot issues with customer equipment.
  • Execute engineering change orders.
  • Create assembly documentation and user manuals from CAD drawings.
  • Lead conference calls with customers for general information and system training sessions
  • Participate in DFMEA and DFM activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on issues identified during production or customer use to improve product performance or durability.
  • Collect and analyze data on equipment performance using engineering analysis tools and techniques.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review safety standards and make changes as applicable to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of new and developing industry technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend product enhancements.
  • Maintain engineering Bills of Material in the Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Mechanical dexterity to perform equipment operation.
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).


Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience
  • 3-5 years of fluid dispensing experience
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software; SolidWorks is preferred
  • Excellent engineering/mechanical aptitude
  • Prior leadership experience and have led customer facing meetings
  • Prior experience with Programmable Logic Controllers is preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic control circuits is preferred
  • Knowledge of component design for manufacturability in machining centers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
