Premise Health is seeking a full time Senior Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care with our employer based direct care model in San Antonio, Texas

Summary:

The Senior Medical Director is responsible for the medical leadership and clinical oversight, health outcomes, and patient care for the client health center. The Senior Medical Director reports directly to the Regional Medical Director and is partnered with the Health Center Manager and the Director of Site Operations to collaboratively operate the health center. The Senior Medical Director aligns medical professionals to company goals, targets and timelines, ensuring performance commitments and results are achieved

Essential Functions:
  • Defines and drives health outcome initiatives; implements interventions and presents results to Health Center providers and management team as well as the client partner.
  • Collaborates in the development of clinical and administrative strategies, action plans, and processes to improve or create innovative approaches to service the medical requirements of the client/account.
  • Identifies trends and patterns via analysis of data; recommends resolutions and provides perspective in collaboration with the Director of Site Operations.
  • Presents data/medical findings and functions as a medical expert consultant for client-facing meetings and sales presentations.
  • Develops and drives adherence to annual health center goals and objectives in collaboration with the Health Center Manager.
  • Leads and motivates medical providers in the health center environment; uses effective medical and performance development management processes.
  • Participates in the development of clinical and administrative policies and guidelines to meet expectations and improve service to the client/account. All policies and guidelines must be in alignment with Premise Health Quality of Care initiatives governed by the Clinical Performance Management team.
  • Establishes communication mechanisms to deliver consistent and timely communication of directives, best practices, regulatory and medical research updates to health center staff.
  • Supports, leads, and models the vision, mission, and values of the company.
  • Assumes overall responsibility for patients receiving care in the health center and collaborates with other health center staff to ensure clinical alignment and scope of practice based on evidence based data/medicine.
  • Works in tandem with Health Center Manager to ensure a collaborative, results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Provides episodic, preventive, and/or primary health care to patients depending on the needs of the client. Conducts histories, physical exams, and prescribes medical treatment.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of medical care and monitors progress of patients.
  • Coordinates and researches continuing educational opportunities for the development of staff within the health center.
  • Assists with decisions regarding the hiring of physicians and providers to ensure quality and fit of candidates.
  • Evaluates, trains, and mentors the site physicians and staff providers.
  • Other projects as required to address specific medical needs.
  • Performs annual evaluations of all physicians and providers with input from the Health Center Manager.


Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Educational requirement: MD or DO degree, Board Certified in Family Practice
  • 7-10 years minimum in Family Practice
  • Must have current state and federal DEA certification.
  • Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
  • Minimum 5 years medical management/leadership experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with outcomes based health initiatives.
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, confident in all settings with individuals at all levels of the organization both internal and external.
  • Understanding of the economic trends in medicine.
  • Excellent quantitative skills. Must be able to analyze data trends, and to critically analyze the medical literature.
  • Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based programs.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state within which the site is located.
