Network Engineer - Data Center joining our team to provide network security & access control and manage security devices to ensure network integrity.

HOW A SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER - DATA CENTER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Perform technical leadership role in support of Data Center and facility network projects.
  • Design and implement standards-based physical layer connectivity through complex routing protocols and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) implementations.
  • Create and apply switch and core router configurations (i.e. Upgrade IOS and NX-OS images) and ensure they meet all customer's standards.
  • Plan for placement of network routers, switches, and other equipment in cooperation with other units and personnel; as well as vendors, telecom carriers, and others.
  • Work with counterparts to duplicate networking in an existing Disaster Recovery (DR) center.
  • Work closely with the networking team to build and maintain hardware for DR.
  • Work with server administrators to implement server builds, maintain, troubleshoot, and decommission.
  • Determine physical locations for new equipment with facilities, plan locations for fiber patch panel infrastructure.
  • Plan cabling connections between equipment and network infrastructure and produce detailed documentation of cabling requirements for use by installers.
  • Submit wiring Requests for Network equipment to Servers and a variety of other hosts and maintain documentation of installed network equipment and cabling.
  • Document data center(s) with detailed Visio drawings including physical device connectivity through cores and routing.
  • Document IP addressing, VLANS and physical locations for network devices.
  • Provide troubleshooting for network errors and failures.
  • Optimize network by reviewing performance to identify and correct network issues.
  • Provide on-going maintenance and perform upgrades of network hardware and software.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; OR in lieu of degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Possess an active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
Required Experience:
  • 8+ years of related professional IT experience
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus 9000 Spine/Leaf, 7000, 5000, 2000 series, and a variety of L2 switches
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Virtual Port Channels (VPC), Trunking, logging, and network monitoring
  • Demonstrated experience with Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocols, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) routing protocol, and Static routing solutions
  • Proficient in switch & core router configurations (i.e. Upgrade IOS and NX-OS images)
  • Proficient with Visio to document network diagrams, etc.
  • Proficient understanding of IP addressing and VLANS
Location:
  • On site in Eagan, MN; WFH days as available (i.e.,, the specific WFH days and frequency will decided per manager/customer discretion
Security Clearance Level:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
