Sr. IT Network Engineer

Location: Miami, FL (USA)

Reporting: Sr. Manager, IT Network & Infrastructure services

Experienced IT Network Administrator overseeing network architecture, security implementation, performance optimization and troubleshooting, proactive maintenance for seamless operations, and guidance to Team members.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning for the expansion of network capacity to support the company's growth.
• Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex network performance and connectivity problems.
• Work with network hardware vendors to diagnose and recommend resolutions for hardware outages, bugs, and scalability limitations.
• Research and work with new networking hardware or technologies.
• Designs, deploys, and maintains network infrastructure to support virtualization architecture - SAN configuration, Hyper-V, ESXi, etc.

Skills

• Hands-on working experience with Palo Alto and Meraki firewalls, Cisco 6500s, and Meraki switch devices.
• Strong security experience with ACLs, IPsec, and traffic inspection.
• Excellent understanding of networking technologies such as BGP, OSPF, STP (RSTP/MSTP), AAA, and layer 2 switching.
• Ability to use tools like Wireshark, Nagios, or SolarWinds for monitoring, analyzing, and diagnosing network issues.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automating network tasks.
• Understanding of wireless protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi 6) and securing wireless networks.
• Experience with cloud networking services (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network).
• Awareness of industry-specific compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Excellent communication - oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop effective and cooperative working relationships across multiple areas.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• CompTIA Network+ or other IT-related certifications desired.
