Role Overview

Reporting directly to the MGBMG Urgent Care Director of Operations, the Senior Operations Manager will lead successful operations and improvements with empathy, vulnerability, and kindness within our Urgent Care locations of the North Region.

This role is critical to the success of Mass General Brigham Medical Group Urgent Care! They will set the conditions for our unique culture to thrive through the operation of a comprehensive and digitally innovative way of experiencing and practicing healthcare. They will be responsible for collaborating with their local clinical leaders for establishing an environment of continuous improvement of operational and clinical performance through the development and implementation of innovative workflows that enhance the patient experience while creating a rewarding and exceptional place for staff to work.

Through engagement, standard best practices, and an approachable, visible leadership style, success in this role will require creating a culture of belonging, humility, and trust amongst everyone on the team.

The Senior Operations Manager will directly oversee three (3) to seven (7) center-based managers and/or supervisors and will have indirect oversight of 100 - 130 staff, including providers, clinical support staff, and administrative staff members.

Location

This is a hybrid opportunity with on-site presence and weekly travel required at assigned MGBMG Urgent Care Centers regularly, as well as to Assembly Row, Somerville, MA.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.


Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in a professional healthcare setting required.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience required.
  • Experience implementing and supporting a lean management system preferred.
  • Ability to form strategic partnerships to deliver value for key stakeholders (clinical and non-clinical) in a complex organization.
  • Prior leadership experience


Knowledge and Skills

  • A strong working knowledge of the healthcare environment, some Urgent care and/or physician administration/operations experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required; ability to listen effectively with discernment and understanding required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor and coach a team.
  • Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment.
  • A natural curiosity and energetic, creative, and collaborative approach to working and problem solving.
  • A strong sense of honesty and integrity required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service
  • A balance of patience and perseverance necessary to affect change in a large and complex organization with a strong, natural drive to get things done.
