Summary or Description:

Our business is growing, and we need additional experienced people to join our team! The successful candidate will be planning, coordinating and managing the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of assigned large capital projects. Additionally, he/she will ensure clear agreement of client objectives, and these objectives are met or exceeded and provide strong HSE leadership.

Purpose:

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Senior Process Engineer to join our team in Mesa, Arizona, ready to innovate solutions for our mineral processing, smelting, and refining projects. A solid background in base metals is crucial for this position.

Responsibilities include leading brownfield studies/projects and/or offering process design expertise on larger studies/projects. The emphasis is on delivering value to Worley MMM clients through early-phase Process Engineering and advancing Process optimization concepts to bolster growth strategies.

Responsibilities:

In a role of Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Complete conceptual and/or detailed process engineering designs for new facilities or modifications to existing ones.
  • Develop design basis documents (e.g., process design criteria, mass, energy, water balances) and reports.
  • Supervise and analyze metallurgical test work programs to develop/optimize flowsheets.
  • Conduct plant auditing, debottlenecking, and optimization.
  • Perform calculations, design development, and process simulations, including specifying process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Create, review, and revise process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, control philosophies, and data sheets.
  • Size preliminary equipment and coordinate with vendors to ensure equipment meets process requirements; execute technical bid evaluations.
  • Familiarity with major process equipment and suppliers.
  • Support Plot Plan and Piping Layout development.
  • Prepare Operating Cost estimates and contribute to Capital Cost estimates.
  • Interface and coordinate with other discipline engineers and project management staff.
  • Review and apply relevant standards, regulations, codes, best practices, and guidelines; identify areas of deviation or concern.
  • Adhere to company work procedures, process technical guidelines, quality assurance plans, safety regulations, and specific customer/project procedures.
  • Validate process deliverables per customer requirements.
  • Participate in HAZOP and/or HAZID studies, Risk Assessments.
  • Operational/plant experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Participate in projects from initial studies through to feasibility, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.

  • Mentor Engineering team in technical skills, safety practices, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster innovation through research and implementation of new technologies.
  • Develop risk management strategies to effectively mitigate operational risks.

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
  • Proven front-end consulting skills, with a strong track record in innovation, technology application, and client engagement.
  • Strategic pursuit and proposal development.
  • Proposal write-up including technical, value proposition and vision objectives.
  • Envision engineering and project execution methodologies.
  • Technical and business presentations to clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical and operational challenges and d emonstrated leadership in managing critical projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and value optimization.
  • An ability to innovate and develop new processes or technologies to improve operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Education-Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgy, chemical or mineral processing engineering required.
  • 10+ years' Mining, Minerals & Metals industry experience ( base metals, precious metals, and energy transition minerals) required.
  • 8+ years ESP (Engineering Service Providers) experience in the mining industry required.
  • 5+ years of MINING operations, design, front end studies & advisory, concept/select, consulting, PFS, FS, and detailed engineering, including commissioning support experience required.
  • Expertise in front-end process standardization and various project management approaches.
  • Experience in NI 43-101 and SK-1300 reporting.

Preferred:
  • Mining regulatory experience.
  • MSHA certification.
