Senior Product Manager - Tech, Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT)
Bellevue, Washington
Employer: Amazon
Industry: Project/Program/Product Management--Technical
Salary: $136100 per year
Job type: Full-Time
The Strategic Sourcing team, a division of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization, is responsible for ensuring access to supply for our Amazon.com customers. We do this for millions of items, for hundreds of product lines of inventory world-wide through supply chain systems and collaborative experiences used by vendors that supply these items. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Tech (Sr. PMT) who is passionate about connecting supply chain users and information across multiple internal and external systems to drive personalized, highly efficient supply chain operations between Amazon and our retail vendors. The right person for this role is passionate about supply chain and user experience, and thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical and business judgment and solid communication skills. They will have a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically to turn ambiguous user and business needs into successful products, and are known for their bias for action and ability to earn trust and influence partner teams.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will own the lifecycle of a zero to one product that will enable Amazon and our vendors to systematically collaborate to define each vendor's optimal supply chain configuration, and achieve highly efficient operations. You will own the product roadmap, drive effective product discussions and define clear product requirements, working with diverse sets of technical partners, vendors, engineering team builders, and regional business partners. You will manage the business of the product (e.g. branding, economic modeling, driving segment adoption, etc.), along with metrics and reporting (e.g., KPIs, adoption, other measures of success). You will manage the timelines for all associated software and services, supporting the launch of new releases and will communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, etc. You will perform or commission market research, usability studies, and focus groups to continuously identify and solve user problems.
A day in the life
You will collaborate with product team partners (science, UX design, business intelligence, software engineering) to define requirements and build your product, delivering value for our business and vendors. You will engage across orgs to align requirements and influence multiple internal stakeholders. On any given day you may deep dive data to understand the behaviors, barriers and operational variances that impact supply chain operations for different vendor cohorts, or meet directly with users to better understand how they operate and test the effectiveness of your product. Written documents are the primary mechanism for communicating product ideas, requirements, status updates and topics for debate; you will regularly author or contribute to documents that support the lifecycle of your product.
About the team
You will join a strong, cross-functional team of product managers, business intelligence engineers, scientists, UX designers and software development engineers to build vendor experiences and ML driven products that maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain operations to meet Amazon's business goals and to make our customers happy.
