Job Summary:

The Colorado School of Public Health, Department of Health System Management & Policy is currently seeking a full time Senior Professional Research Assistant (Sr. PRA) - Level 2. The Sr. PRA will support the development, implementation, dissemination and translation of research studies conducted by faculty in the Department of Health Systems, Management and Policy (HSMP) and by collaborating with research institutions. The position contributes to operational planning activities for research studies, data collection, data management and processing, data analysis and interpretation, data visualization and communication, development of scientific publications and presentations, planning and facilitation of research meetings and workshops, and coordination and communication with external research partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evidence reviews, syntheses and meta-analyses of research findings.
  • Design and implement data collection processes via surveys, interviews, focus groups and other methods.
  • Clean, combine and manage primary and secondary data sources.
  • Design and execute data analysis plans that involve quantitative and/or qualitative analytic methods.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings and conference calls with research collaborators and funders.
  • Create data summaries, infographics and data visualizations.
  • Develop recommendations from data, existing evidence, and stakeholder input.
  • Develop and edit research reports, briefs, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Develop research translation products based on research results, including decision tools, implementation guides, use cases, and other guidance documents.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of electronic repositories for research products including publications, presentations, and research translation tools and guides.
  • Develop systems and processes for tracking the progress, outputs, and outcomes of research studies, including monitoring citations and other uses of research results.
  • Participate in research strategic planning activities and research agenda-setting activities with faculty, staff, students, collaborators and funders.
  • Assist with planning future extramural research funding opportunities, including research grant development.
  • Identify opportunities to engage students in the implementation and translation of research studies and assist faculty in supporting student engagement in research through opportunities such as internships, practicums, and capstone projects.


Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of up to 1 day per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • A master's degree in a public health, health sciences, public administration, business administration, or social sciences discipline, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience working in health services delivery, health policy, and/or health research settings.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in using health equity and racial equity frameworks to inform research, policy and practice, including concepts related to social determinants of health, structural racism, and systemic inequities.
  • Progressively responsible experience with university administrative policies and procedures.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytic, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to efficiently organize, multi-task, and prioritize duties and tasks without oversight.
  • Communication skills to include a high level of comfort with professional and scientific writing for various content platforms (print, web, media).
  • Knowledge of U.S. health policies and health service delivery systems

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$59,843 to $105,729

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
