Senior Program Manager, Transportation Engineering Systems, Transportation Engineering Systems
Bellevue, Washington
Employer: Amazon
Industry: Project/Program/Product Management--Non-Tech
Salary: $104100 per year
Job type: Full-Time
Amazon's Transportation Engineering Systems Team owns the configuration of each setting in Amazon's Resource Planning systems. These settings are used to provide the committed delivery date on the website "order in the next 3 hour and get it tomorrow", and then used to plan and route every order such that we meet the commitment to our customers. Every week 1000s of changes are made as we seek to grow the business and optimize our resources.
The Senior Program Manager (Sr. PM) for TESS will take charge of ensuring highest quality standards are followed as the network changes are deployed by the organization. The role requires the individual to build and drive strategy to safeguard NA transportation network (protect against negative customer experience impact). A critical aspect of this position is to zoom out of individual quality issues and ask how we can limit dependency on human factors for Quality issues. The person will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background. The Sr. PM must be able to thrive and succeed in an innovative environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

- Establish guidelines and standards for development of new processes that help us build in quality and "get it right" the first time.
- Architect a BIQ (Built in Quality) mentality and validation program. Lead and coordinate execution efforts between internal and external orgs focusing on quality improvements
