The Washington State team within MSP champions issues of inclusive opportunity, quality of life and economic competitiveness to ensure the headquarters region remains a great place to live and work . We are seeking a Senior Program Manager, Washington Community Relations and Sponsorships, Microsoft Philanthropies who is enthusiastic about building meaningful relationships between Microsoft, nonprofits, and the community a t large . This role will manage a portfolio of 50+ community -based sponsorships & grants , connect nonprofits to MSP programs and other corporate and campus resources , and represent Microsoft at n onprofit and community events throughout the year . The role will collaborate with the team to build and deliver an annual sponsorship and grants progra m supporting organizations a cross the nonprofit sector, including arts, culture, human services, civic engagement, economic development, education, and skills development . The role will also require ongoing collaboration with key internal s takeholders across Corporate External Legal Affairs (CELA) , including government affairs, public affairs, and related corporate social responsibility teams.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for :
  • Community Sponsorship s and Grants Program : Design, build and implement a spons ors hip and grant program that deepens relationships , builds trust with community and supports Microsoft's business goals . P rovide annual financial and in-kind support to designated 50+ nonprofit organizations within this portfolio , primarily in King County, WA . Define clear roles, expectations and desired outcomes for both grantees and Microsoft. Leverage AI and technology to e stablish effective and efficient operational processes that support the needs of nonprofits and help demonstrate Microsoft's impact in the community. Communicate regularly with grantees about timelines, milestones, reporting, special opportunities and engagement terms . Understand the needs, trends, issues and networks within the nonprofit community. Incorporate best practices for inclusive, equitable and community-centered grant-making.
  • Microsoft Philanthropies , CELA and Corporate Programs : Collaborate with peers , especially across MSP's global Skills for Social Impact , Tech for Social Impact and Employee Engagement teams , to ensure local nonprofits benefit from Microsoft's global nonprofit programs for digital transformation, AI skilling, employee giving and employee volunteering. Work in partnership with key stakeholders across the company to ensure Microsoft is developing a coordinated approach and leveraging company assets in the most impactful way. You will support strategies that promote corporate social responsibility and other key business objectives. You'll also participate and lead intra-group and cross-group projects, problem -solving and driving clarity and where needed.
  • Representing Microsoft in the Community: Be an active, present, approachable champ ion for Microsoft and its mission in the local community . Promote the use of AI and technology as a tool to support the work of nonprofits and communities. Collaborate with others in the business, philanthropic and civic community to identify areas of regional importance and help respond with appropirate action. Collaborate with Microsoft's government affairs and public affairs teams on external engagement with policy leaders, civic groups and media entitites. Contribute to Microsoft's overall strategy and plan for corporate social repsonsibility in Washington State. P rovide knowledge and insigh t on societal, economic, technical , cultural and community attributes to internal and external audiences.
  • Microsoft's impact in the local community: Bui l d awareness for Microsoft's contribution and impact in the local community through effective, creative storytelling with nonprofits and community partners . Serve as a spokesperson through public events, social media and written communication. Se cure communications opportunities with grantees and nonprofits to drive brand awareness and support. Showcase successful uses of AI and technology for good.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ year(s) work experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, Philanthropies, Corporate Affairs, or related area
    • OR 5+ years work experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, Philanthropies, Corporate Affairs, or related area
  • Experience in CSR sponsorship and grant program design, grant management, execution and evaluation .
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years work experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Philanthropies, Corporate Affairs, or related area.
  • 3+ year(s) experience managing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or related program.
  • 3+ years experience working in or with a large, matrixed organization.
  • Deep u nderstanding of the nonprofit sector , technology sector and the broader business community , ideally in King County .
Corporate Social Responsibility IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
