PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Senior Project HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Technician at Worley, you will be integral in advancing our commitment to delivering sustainable change. This role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel, promoting environmental sustainability, and maintaining compliance with HSE regulations across various projects. You will collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to implement effective HSE strategies, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in HSE practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HSE Leadership
Provide exemplary leadership in HSE, setting a standard of best practices and ensuring safety remains a top priority on all project sites.
Project Compliance
Ensure adherence to local, regional, and international HSE regulations, standards, and company policies throughout all project phases.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize HSE risks during project execution.
HSE Planning
Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement project specific HSE plans, goals, and targets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
Training and Development
Design and deliver HSE training programs for project personnel, fostering a culture of safety awareness and providing tools to enhance HSE understanding.
Incident Management
Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Performance Monitoring
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HSE performance, regularly monitor data, and produce reports to track progress and highlight areas for improvement.
Emergency Response
Develop and test emergency response plans, ensuring all personnel are well-prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and incidents.
Stakeholder Engagement
Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and community members to promote transparency, cooperation, and a shared commitment to HSE standards.
Continuous Improvement
Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing HSE processes, systems, and practices, leading initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE documentation, records, and reports, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
HSE Audits and Inspections
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and assessments to verify compliance and identify areas for corrective action.
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Professional Certifications
Certifications such as CSP, CHST, CIH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Industry Experience
Experience in HSE roles within the Industrial Construction Sector is essential.
Leadership Experience
Proven track record of successful HSE leadership on large-scale projects, demonstrating the ability to drive positive change and improve safety performance.
Regulatory Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of relevant HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
Communication Skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are crucial.
Technical Proficiency
Proficiency in using HSE software and tools for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
Incident Investigation Skills
Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
Collaboration Skills
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Flexibility
Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
