Your Opportunity

The Sr. Project Manager/Account Manager is the "seller/doer" responsible for leading pursuits and delivery of excellent work to our clients. This role will provide leadership to environmental surveying, reporting, and permitting services with a focus on power clients in the Gulf Coast Region. As an Account Manager, this role is accountable for growth of Stantec's key client accounts and improving Stantec's market position while providing innovative design solutions with exceptional quality and execution that exceed client expectations.

Your Key Responsibilities

Client Development and Account Focus:
  • Responsible for exceeding client expectations through strong account management across the business center (BC) and personally leading accounts for major clients in the BC.
  • Achieve minimum client and proposal-specific marketing and business development (M&BD) sales goals, including internal cross-selling initiatives.
  • Drives the client relationship strategy, working with Principals and BC leaders to drive strong results in the client satisfaction survey within the respective BC.
  • Develops more relationships at higher levels of client organization, maintaining zippering between client and account team.
  • Build strong internal relationships to sell expanded services and achieve overall annual account growth and performance targets. Hold regular account management meetings with the team to review progress and metrics but are focused on relationships and new future opportunities for growth.
  • Support the account team and Stantec project teams through client service issues to ensure we maintain our client net promoter score.
  • Work with and rely upon the support of administrative and marketing personnel to ensure efficient administration and reporting.
  • Be an active thought leader and have an online presence that aligns with a part of the client's business interests.

Business Development and Collaboration:
  • Actively contributes to win strategies and successful project execution and becomes involved at a hands-on level in key pursuits.
  • Leads growth of the BC through developing and leading the business development, key pursuit and sales strategy and is accountable for expanding services with our client base utilizing strong marketing, business development, sales account management plans.
  • Identify upcoming opportunities for both negotiated acquisition and competitive pursuits.
  • Participate in go/no-go evaluations and identify actions to improve scores throughout the pursuit process.
  • Manage M&BD budgets to obtain target sales, capture rate, and ROI.

Project Focus:
  • Lead delivery of significant BC project pursuits.
  • Actively participate including contribution to written content in major projects in key roles such as Independent Technical Reviewers, as required.
  • Provide technical review, expert witness support, and assist with application development for Certificates of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) for Stantec's Routing and Siting program.
  • Lead and manage federal and state permit applications and agency coordination related to CCNs and CPCNs for public utility commissions, Endangered Species Act, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and CERCLA (Phase I and Phase II Hazardous Material Assessments)
  • Coordinate technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions
  • Travel as needed (up to 25%) across project and company offices and to meet with regulatory and governmental stakeholders, conduct public outreach, and coordinate with clients
  • Task and project management responsibilities include developing proposals; managing projects and budgets; proactive and clear communication with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies and internal project staff; and performing and overseeing project technical work.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years' related work, leadership, financial management, business development and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • This position will be in a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
