The Data and AI team in Microsoft's Developer Division is working on the future of AI-powered developer tools such as Github Copilot used by millions of developers around the world! Pushing the boundary of knowledge in the interdisciplinary world of NLP and software engineering, our team brings the state of the art to development environments, debuggers, DevOps, CLI, and Azure cloud tools. This opportunity offers both the intellectual challenge of creating knowledge and working with large-scale product environments.

- Work on the future of AI-powered developer tools.
- Keep up to date with the research literatures.
- Create new datasets from both the world's public code and Microsoft's internal data.
- Build and manage large-scale ML experiments and models.
- Create new benchmarks.
- Present work to both internal teams and public conferences.
- Utilization of effective writing skills for producing both papers and patents.
- Embody our Culture and Values .
Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate in relevant field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience working on development skills in Python, C#, C ++, or Java.
- Experience publishing academic papers as a lead author or essential contributorat software engineering, machine learning or NLP conferences.

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills and aptitude to present research papers
- Potential teamwork and collaboration skills.
- 5+ years development skills in Python, C#, C ++, or Java.
- Experience in productizing machine learning models is desirable.
