Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to support Global Risk Management & Claims (GRMC). The ideal candidate will be innovative, team oriented, an effective communicator, have a desire to participate in change, and appreciate a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Key job responsibilities

- Assist with financial planning and analytics for insurance programs.

- Manage relationship with stakeholders (internal business groups, insurance/reinsurance providers, finance, accounting, actuary, administrator and underwriter).

- Assist with producing management reporting and key metrics for quarterly and monthly business reviews.

- Research, investigate and resolve out of balances and variances to exposure assumptions.

- Review financial models submitted for underwriting, reserving, values at risk, and funding requests.

- Review claims looking for trends in the data that indicate possible unexpected loss.

- Document operational processes, ensure compliance with financial controls, and provide evidence to support quarterly attestation.

- Manage tax filings ensuring regulatory timelines are met and providing data to Tax stakeholders.

- Provide OPEX guidance for insurance programs to corporate finance teams.

- Assist in management of investment portfolio and capital adequacy for a captive insurance company.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related field.

- 4+ years of experience in risk or finance.

- 4+ years of experience working cross functionally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with SQL and Excel

- Experience related to insurance programs (e.g. Healthcare/Life/Disability, Property, Casualty, Auto).

- 4+ years of data reporting, reconciliation, modeling and variance analysis.

- Ability to manipulate large sets of data into aggregated summaries for journal entry and reporting purposes.

- High customer service acumen

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
