Position Summary
Position Summary: The Senior Software and Electrical Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and developing a team of engineers in the design, development and maintenance of both hardware and software solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronic design (analog, digital, embedded systems and power electronics), software development (embedded C, Python, MATLAB). This role requires a strong background in managing legacy and sustaining work, as well as a proven track record in implementing Level A DO-178C, DO-254, DO-330, DO-331, and IEC 61508 standards.
This position is located in Cary, NC in our Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Division. This position is a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of software and electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Develop team members project technical leadership skill in both electronic and software development.
- Lead the design and development of electronic systems, including analog, digital, embedded systems and power solutions.
- Oversee software development projects, particularly in embedded C, Python and MATLAB.
- Ensure sufficient process and design rigor during development including design reviews.
- Actively setting priorities, managing resource conflicts.
- Managing network of external resources to augment full-time team members (contractors, consultants, recruiters, universities).
- Active participation in talent pipeline (University relationships, career fairs, interns, co-ops).
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers, team members, peers, and senior management.
- Prepare and present project updates, technical reports and documentation as required.
- Oversee legacy and sustaining work related to both electrical and software systems.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Implement and ensure compliance with Level A DO-178C, DO-254, DO-330, DO-331 and IEC 61508 standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Drive process updates/improvements.
- Apply engineering practices to systematically solve complex problems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for both hardware and software issues, ensuring effective and efficient resolution.
- Coach team members to develop the above competencies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electronic design and software development, with a focus on embedded systems.
- Experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Strong background in Process Assurance.
- Proven experience in implementing Level A DO-178C, DO-254, DO-330, DO-331 and IEC 61508 standards.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, embedded systems, and power electronic designs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
- Prior management skills.
- Experience in certification in the automotive industry.
- Proficient in embedded C, Python and MATLAB.
- Experience in LabView.
- Experience with legacy system maintenance and sustaining engineering.
- Experience with ARP4754A and ARP4761.
- Experience with EMI/EMC (MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-462).
