Make history.As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Device OS group, you will conceive, design and deliver innovative features that will be deployed to high volume consumer products. You will work closely with internal interdisciplinary teams and outside partners to drive key aspects of feature definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open, collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will:

• \tArchitect, develop, and deliver features for new and existing embedded system products.

• \tInvestigate, prototype and deliver innovative solutions.

• \tWork in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software.

• \tUse architectural principles, select design patterns, and mentor other team members.

• \tDevelop necessary safeguards to ensure compliance and adherence to best practices for delivering high-quality embedded system solutions.

• \tWork with cross-functional teams and senior engineering and product teams to build and ship technical solutions for the best customer experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 6+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

- • \t8+ years of embedded software development experience using C/C++ or Java.

- • \t6+ years of strong Android Framework and Android full-stack experience.

- • \tGood understanding of Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL), Android build systems and SELinux internals.

- • \tUnderstanding of embedded system development constraints.

- • \tExperienced in working effectively in a cross-functional team.

- • \tExperience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team.

- • \tProven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
