Senior Software Developer

Your Role and Responsibilities
* Create Ansible playbooks and maintain useful written information about our infrastructure
* Care and feeding of hundreds of physical machines including purchasing as we need to replace EOL machines
* Support internal customers by resolving incident and service requests
* Coordinate with members of the global Storage Engineering team
* Participate in continuous improvement
* Lead / Mentor other team members

Introduction

As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource: data.

We're looking for a talented system administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of hundreds of servers. You'll be working with intelligent, global distributed team. You will have an opportunity to see the whole lifecycle of providing services for a large community project. We expect you to be a careful person who notices important details.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Great troubleshooting and debugging skills and a passion for problem solving
* Advanced experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, or Fedora
* Experience with hybrid cloud technologies, e.g., OpenShift, OpenStack, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Experience with tools like Ansible, Bash, Python, Git
* Experience with enterprise data center operations and monitoring
* Ability to work in a geographically distributed team
* Willingness to embrace challenge with a positive attitude and a solid customer focus
* Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA),
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Required Education
High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
