Senior Software Engineer, AGI, Information

The AGI information is responsible to make the world's information accessible for AI models and customers everywhere. The Information Experience Technology (IXT) org within Info is responsible for defining and delivering engaging, natural conversational and proactive experiences, with easy-to-understand and content rich information that is relevant to every customer and optimized for every modality.

As a full-stack SDE in the team, you will get to collaborate with product managers, UX designers, Principal and Senior SDEs across a large cross-section of AGI (including the Information and Gen AI teams), to bring to life cutting edge AGI capabilities. This role provides you with autonomy and ownership on decisions, working backwards directly from customers. There is ample opportunity for growth due to the high visibility work, and presence of senior engineering talent for guidance and mentorship. You will leverage technical skills like front-end development, end-to-end system design with resiliency, and core Java development skills.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will:- partner with scientists, PEs and senior SDEs across AGI teams to build cutting-edge experiences- are comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and make effective tradeoffs balancing speed of delivery and long-term architecture.- mentor junior engineers and model design, coding and communication skills.- forge strong working relationships with peers and stakeholders outside the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
