While this role supports remote work, periodic travel to our headquarters in Wichita, Kansas will be required, as well as occasional trips to our refineries in Minnesota and Texas. The frequency of travel will be determined by team needs and your supervisor.

What You Will Do

Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills on our most complex issues using expert-level knowledge in our technologies. Serve as a go-to resource for technical expertise, driving projects to successful completion.
  • Take ownership of code repositories and proactively drive the implementation of effective branching strategies, pull request processes, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and other essential software engineering work processes.


Technical Leadership:
  • Drive the technical execution of large-scale products, ensuring high-quality designs aligned with product milestones and business needs. Take ownership of technical direction and guide engineering efforts for successful outcomes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive positive change and provide technical alternatives and improvements to stakeholders within the organization.
  • Actively apply and influence FHR best practices to drive positive change.


Mentoring:
  • Proactively share knowledge with other engineers, establishing yourself as a trusted expert. Foster growth and excellence among colleagues by sharing your expertise, empowering them to thrive and excel in their roles.
  • Actively engage with the wider community both internally and externally by sharing your expertis e. Proactively disseminate knowledge through documentation, presentations, and active participation in tech forums or conferences.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 4+ years professional software engineering experience
  • 2+ years' experience in React for UI development
  • 2+ years' experience with Typescript running in a Node.js runtime
  • 2+ years' experience as an engineering mentor
  • Experience being a lead engineer on a large project or product


What Will Put You Ahead
  • In-depth experience with AWS Serverless Services (Lambda, Dynamo, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFront, and other AWS serverless technologies)
  • In-depth experience with Serverless Stack, CDK, or Serverless Framework
  • Knowledge on graph databases, Neo4J preferred


This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

For this role, we anticipate paying $110,000 - $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
