We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for Copilot for Security to execute strategic enterprise platform priorities, drive alignment across internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Software Engineer for Copilot for Security's enterprise team, you will build the capabilities that enable our enterprise customers to consume Copilot for Security and frameworks that empower thousands of engineers and across Microsoft Security, our external partners, and customers to build amazing new use cases into and on top of Copilot for Security. Key deliverables are:
  • Lead the design and development of our enterprise-based platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and drive the implementation of innovative solutions that are required for Microsoft Security services to deliver copilot experiences.
  • Implement best practices for model evaluation, and deployment in production environments.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with product management to prioritize features and roadmap initiatives based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, software quality, and best practices for software development lifecycle management.
  • Empower thousands of engineers to leverage the extensibility framework through the creation of framework learning and maintenance processes.
  • Develop the material needed to empower others to build on top of Copilot for Security Platform.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, .NET, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer running a large platform or distributed systems.
  • 4+ years experience building distributed systems leveraging technologies like REST APIs, queues, and databases.
Additional Requirements:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing cyber security software.
  • Experience in data pipelines or distributed systems.
  • Experience developing software involving AI or Machine Learning.
  • BS Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
