As a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer, you will contribute to a diverse technical team on the HORUS IR&D team. This position supports the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a system engineering role where you can make a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers!

Essential Functions:
  • Space Control (Satellite Acquisition & Tracking) Electronic Warfare experience
  • Hardware In the Loop (Software to Hardware connectivity) experience
  • Communications Experience (networking & RF)
  • Comms on the Move
  • Radio systems experience
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors
  • Ability to negotiate solutions among functional groups (Systems Engineering, Mission Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.)
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experience
  • Strong coordination and organization skills with a focus on details
  • Proficient with domain knowledge (space systems engineering, general systems)
  • Participate in agile execution, MBSE, and requirements analysis.
  • Possess interpersonal leadership skills with support to customers, including meetings and briefings.
  • Possess DoD engineering experience, System Development Life Cycle knowledge, Familiarity with DoD 5000.
  • Experience with DoD Systems Engineering artifacts (SEP, SEMP, TEMP, CMP, DMP).
  • Experience with INCOSE requirements writing guide.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • FPGA & embedded hardware experience
  • System Development Life Cycle knowledge
  • Experience with and knowledge of Space Domain Awareness mission and systems
  • Experience with Engineering Drawings and traceability
  • MagicDraw
  • Rational DOORs
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $89,000.00 - $165,000.00 (salary ranges in other locations could differ). This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
