As a Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager with a Network Capacity Background, you'll take end-to-end ownership of operations, emphasizing capacity planning, logistics optimization, network design, and analysis of operational efficiency.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Product, Finance, and more. Key job responsibilities

- Lead strategic initiatives related to network capacity within Amazon's various business units.

- Concentrate on optimizing and managing the flow of goods, information, or services within the supply chain network.

- Balance supply and demand, assess and improve the efficiency of distribution networks, warehouses, or logistics operations.

- Analyze and synthesize data to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experiences and operational efficiency in network capacity.

- Define metrics, develop program management mechanisms, and invent/simplify processes to drive decision-making in complex network capacity situations.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions, influencing and facilitating agreements to achieve shared network capacity goals.

- Manage cross-functional network capacity initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to lean philosophy at scale.

- Own a portfolio of cross-functional programs related to network capacity, driving performance improvement and efficiency in project delivery.

- Identify and deliver operational improvement opportunities in network capacity, focusing on inventory management, logistics strategy, and transportation optimization.

- Monitor and optimize key network capacity metrics to ensure the smooth flow of goods or services through the supply chain network.

A day in the life

- Own the strategy for how we utilize and optimize our Dedicated Fleet operations.

- Oversee the relationship with our Dedicated Fleet partner and drive accountability in performance.

- Identify the right metrics to balance cost while meeting key SLA's. (Service Level Agreements)

- Be an effective communicator through writing to hold business reviews and articulate forward looking strategy across the business.

- Have a strong acumen for data analytics and translate large data sets into easy to understand outputs.

- Develop sustainable mechanisms that enable the business to scale at a fast pace.

Want to join a team to revolutionize a worldwide customer experience and fulfill our promise to become the world's first truly global e-commerce company? Amazon is seeking an experienced Sr. Supply Chain Manager to lead and drive the planning and strategy for our Dedicated Fleet Operations.

The Global Mile Destination Operations team is responsible for the movement of inventory from our North American ports to Amazon Fulfillment Center locations. We utilize multiple inbound strategies to control costs while optimizing for speed to deliver a best-in-class product offering. We are the face of Amazon for our international sellers and an advocate to properly balance the network to minimize supply chain disruptions. Our team operates with a "Think Globally, Act Locally" mindset to ensure that we understand current industry trends and stay on leading edge as a pioneer for new ways to conduct drayage operations.

Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can navigate ambiguity and are comfortable with being able to challenge the status quo. You will have a strong track record of using data analytics to solve complex problems and thrive in finding new and inventive solutions. You are an effective communicator that can create and present metrics (and ideas) to drive cross-functional understanding while influencing stakeholders across varying degrees of roles and levels. You are effective at "seeing around corners" and can interpret trends to make data-driven decisions rooted from both a financial and operational mindset.

As a Senior Supply Chain Manager, your primary day-to-day focus is to lead the optimization of our Dedicated Fleet. You will focus on understanding the barriers faced and develop strategies to mitigate impact to performance. You will need to model out operational scenarios and write documents to influence mid/long-term decision making that ultimately impacts our cost structure and speed performance. You will also partner with internal and external stakeholders to quickly pilot new ideas and write the roadmap for longer term implementations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- 5+ years of supply chain experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

- 5+ years of program or project management experience, with a focus on network capacity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree

- PMP certificate

- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
