Description: Job Summary:

This position is remote however candidates must reside in the following States: California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington.The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and filing the organization's federal and state tax returns. This role will work closely with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and will provide guidance and support to other departments as needed. The Senior Tax Analyst will review tax forms, including Forms 990, 990T, for-profit tax returns, and related schedules, perform tax research and analysis, and preparing memoranda. This role requires excellent project management skills and ability to effectively collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure the success of projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Review and file annual tax returns, including Form 990, 990-T, and other required forms.

• Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with nonprofit laws and regulations.

• Assist with tax projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the projects.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and reviewing information and/or documentation for submission to internal and external auditors.

• Pursue professional growth by soliciting and acting on performance feedback; build collaborative, cross-functional relationships; and foster open dialogue amongst team members; execute performance management guidelines and expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years tax experience.

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or related field AND Minimum five (5) years accounting or related business experience. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Tax compliance and consulting experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • CPA of JD.
