Senior Technical Writer

Description:

As a Finch AI Sr. Technical Writer, you will be at the forefront of shaping the understanding and utilization of our innovative AI technology. On a daily basis, you will dive deep into the mechanics of our products, collaborating closely with our technical teams to distill complex AI concepts and functionalities into clear, concise, and engaging documentation. Your work will directly empower our customers, enabling them to seamlessly integrate and leverage our AI solutions with their data, thus driving enhanced decision-making and business outcomes. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our cutting-edge technology is accessible, understandable, and maximally effective for all users, from technical experts to business decision-makers, thereby playing a crucial role in our product's success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Documentation Development: Create, maintain, and update a wide range of documentation materials, including user guides, installation manuals, API documentation, and release notes, tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, QA engineers, and customer support teams to gather information and ensure the documentation accurately reflects the product features and user needs.
  • User Advocacy: Act as a user advocate, incorporating user feedback and usability findings into documentation to improve user experience.
  • Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that addresses current documentation needs and anticipates future requirements as our product and user base grow.
  • Tools and Processes: Evaluate and recommend documentation tools and processes to improve the efficiency and quality of documentation work.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all documentation meets high-quality standards for clarity, completeness, accuracy, and alignment with our brand voice.

Technical Skills:
  • 7-10 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the technology or AI sectors, with a proven track record of producing a variety of technical documents for diverse audiences.
  • Should have demonstrated prior technical writing experience for software products.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, and data analytics concepts. Ability to grasp complex technical topics and translate them into clear, understandable content.
  • Tools: Proficient with technical writing tools (e.g., Markdown, DITA, MadCap Flare) and collaboration software (e.g., Confluence, JIRA).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
