Senior Transmission Line Engineer (Richmond)

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer for a large engineering client for their Richmond, VA and Fort Mill, SC locations. This is a hybrid role, with flexibility for 3 days in-office. Engineers will work with overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines; this is including but not limited to, route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packages. Successful candidates will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. This individual will be responsible for handling wood, concrete, and steel poles, steel towers, and foundations. They will lead clearance checks to both new and existing sites along with any fiber optic additions. Specific voltages will be around 69kV to 345 kV. Specific to the Richmond, VA office, candidates will have the opportunity for advancement to Area Lead or Department Managers after proven success (after 2-3 years). Senior Engineers will have the opportunity to be assigned to Mega-Projects, working on 500 HVDC lines, across multi-states.

Required Skills & Experience

Min of 10 years experience in transmission line industry as an engineer
Significant PLS-CADD experience is required
Proven experience of acting as a team lead (specific to the design of transmission line projects)
Proven experience running either a group of projects simultaneously and/or experience leading a mega project (>100 miles or greater)
Experience in voltages from 69kV on up to 345kV is expected and up to 500kV AC/DC added bonus
Able to communicate effectively

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

PLS-Tower or PLS-Pole experience
Experience with technical presentation (Specifically to large groups)
PE license strongly preferred
