OpsTech Solutions organization, with an unparalleled scope, is part of the Amazon's WW Operations & Robotics team. We design, deploy and support IT infrastructure, devices and Services across Amazon's Global Fulfillment Centers, Transportation (Middle Mile, Last Mile & Logistics), and Specialty Customer Solutions (Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry, Campus, and Prime Air). Our customers range from Amazon lockers to Amazon's Air Hubs.

Ops Tech Infrastructure Engineering Product Management (OTIP) is is looking for a Senior UX designer to take ownership in building internal business intelligence tools and dashboards that will be used across all levels in the company to improve how Amazon manages its Network Infrastructure.

You will get to utilize your skills from discovery research to design execution, traveling to our internal customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that unify and streamline how complex information is presented to improve Amazon's Network Infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities

- Plan and propose innovative solutions for a wide variety of product design problems including, but not limited to: mobile, responsive web, physical environments, and person-to-person interactions.

- Lead the design for wholly new experiences and improvements of existing experiences while planning and defining strategy for the direction of future iterations.

- Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details.

- Advocate for your design solutions by putting them in context with the inputs that influenced the design decisions, including business and user goals, demographic and usage data, and research findings.

- Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mock-ups, interaction flows, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

- Deliver work that's not only user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, but which also produces results.

- Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle.

- Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics.

- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications.

- Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.

- Contribute to the group's shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of experience in UX design or related discipline.

- An online portfolio UX work.

- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with UX design of complex workflows and/or experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity.

- Experience in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.

- Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps.

- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, InVision, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.

- Experience working in a collaborative, diverse team, working directly with developers for implementation of designs.

- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.

- Bachelor or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent degree.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
