About the position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President to join our team as a Front Office/First Line of Defense Regulatory Compliance Specialist within the financial markets industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in banking operations, Broker Dealer and Swap Dealer regulations (including the global impact of relevant U.S. regulations), compliance with regulations, and a deep understanding of front office sales and trading operations. Additionally, you will lead the Regulatory and Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management function within the US Financial Markets (FM) Front Office and will be part of the FM Center of Expertise (CoE) Regulatory team based in Amsterdam. The FM CoE Regulatory team has responsibility over three key areas i) Regulatory Outlook & Advocacy, ii) regulatory change and implementation iii) safeguarding against non-financial risk.

Responsibilities :
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies and frameworks to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations within the financial markets industry.
  • Maintain policies and procedures to reasonably ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (i.e., FED, FINRA, SEC, NFA, and CFTC requirements).
  • Collaborate with front office teams to integrate compliance practices into daily operations and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain an interest in developing knowledge of NFR Management governance and processes and can translate NFR requirements into day-to-day FM practices.
  • Communicate new regulatory requirements simply and efficiently to affected business and other functions and stakeholders to ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance, support and advice to front office Sales and Trading staff on regulatory matters, including the interpretation and application of regulations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory issues, staying abreast of changes in regulations and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry bodies to represent the organization's interests and address regulatory inquiries and examinations.
  • Analyze and assess the impact of proposed regulatory changes on the organization's operations and develop appropriate responses.
  • Evaluate new products and activities to ensure regulatory issues are identified and remediated.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk management, and compliance, to address regulatory issues and implement effective solutions.


Qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on banking operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Series 7 and 24
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. regulatory system in general and specifically knowledge of CFTC, NFA, FINRA, and SEC rules and regulations applicable to swap dealer and broker dealer and FED rules applicable to banks.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and regulatory frameworks, such as Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, MiFIR and Basel III/IV.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets products and offerings, policies and procedures and business culture to reconcile regulatory needs with specific product and operational needs.
  • Analytical knowledge of complex products, issues and people and the mix of those, and the operational, financial, systemic and risk management processes around such products and offerings.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing regulatory strategies and frameworks.
  • A mastery of applicable US banking rules and regulations; exceptional reasoning and analysis skills, with the ability to identify and address complex regulatory issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Capability to drive consensus and, where appropriate, to take a firm position even in the absence of broad-based support.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Salary Range SVP: $170,000-$200,000
