Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Water Resources Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Lead technical teams in developing water resources analyses
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, project meetings.
  • Manage client relationships and contracts.
  • Conduct work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers.
  • Maintain professional engineering registration.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading technical staff on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skills.
  • Good leadership, planning and mentoring skills.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • MS Project
  • Hydraulic Modeling including HEC-RAS 2D
  • MS Office
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • A minimum of 10 years Water Resources experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • HEC-1, HEC-RAS, GEORAS, Storm CAD, Haested Methods
  • Experience in water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics and drainage/flood control design
  • Familiarity with DOT drainage design criteria
  • Experience in FEMA studies a plus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
