Job Description:

GDIT is seeking an experienced Monitoring Systems Administrator to join our team supporting the CITS contract for USCENTCOM. As a Monitoring Systems Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our enterprise systems by managing and maintaining monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, SCOM, Nagios, and Dynatrace. The position is based in Tampa, Florida, with occasional travel requirements to OCONUS locations for USCENTCOM Exercise support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administering and maintaining the SolarWinds, SCOM, Nagios, and Dynatrace monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Configuring and deploying monitoring agents across servers, virtual machines, and networking devices.
  • Developing and implementing monitoring strategies to proactively identify and address issues related to system performance, security, and availability.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams to integrate monitoring solutions into the overall infrastructure and ensure alignment with command requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to monitoring tool configuration, data collection, and alerting mechanisms.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and team members on monitoring best practices and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Evaluating vendor products and technologies to enhance monitoring capabilities and meet evolving business requirements.
  • Participating in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements related to monitoring tools.
  • Documenting monitoring configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Supporting projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency, capability, and security of the monitoring environment.
  • Interfacing with third-party vendors for support and issue resolution.
Education and/or Certifications:

Required:
  • Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
Desired:
  • Relevant certifications such as SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP),
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Dynatrace Associate Administrator.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in administering and configuring monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, SCOM, Nagios, and Dynatrace.
  • Strong understanding of system monitoring principles and best practices.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to monitoring systems.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with USCENTCOM's IT environment and mission.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional IT teams and projects.
Clearance Requirement:
  • Active TS/SCI
Travel Requirements:
  • Required USCENTCOM Exercise support of up to 10% Travel during the Year to OCONUS Locations.

The likely salary range for this position is $92,650 - $125,350. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
