Job Description
Under the direction and supervision of a Food Service Supervisor/ Management, performs all duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
1. Sign in timesheet
2. Check work assignment
3. Performs any or all of the following duties as assigned and adhering to the policies and procedures for each task:
4. Setup assigned station with appropriate items before meal services; checks for cleanliness before starting proration of food.
5. Assembles prepared food on trays for patients according to menu cards or special diet lists. Delivers trays to patients and collects/returns soiled trays to the kitchen area. Participates in daily menu conferences and food service operations of cafeteria or dining room area, including organizing the service area and collecting dishes and resetting tables.
6. Assist in cooking operations and prepares patients' between-meal nourishment and cold food (e.g. salads, sandwiches, desserts, etc.) according to oral and / or written instruction; reconstitutes hot food in microwave ovens.
7. Services food at proper temperatures utilizing appropriate kitchen equipment.
8. Clean kitchen and dining areas. Washes, sanitizes and / or sterilizes dishes, working areas/ surfaces, utensils and equipment.
9. Collets, transports and / or disposes of garbage and trash in designated containers; runs appropriate items through a dishwasher utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agent(s).
10. Obtains stock from refrigerators and/storerooms. Load and unloads stock, and dispatches and stores supplies.
11. Participate in P.I. and in-service training, as assigned.
12. Perform other related tasks, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Responsible for the sanitary and safe handling of food and equipment. Must adhere to meal time and schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensively stands and walks most of the day. Stoops, reaches, lift carriers, pulls, pushes. Handles utensils with speed and dexterity.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read and write English and to understand and carry out simple instructions.
